We Contemplate New Possibilities
Rachel
It takes a lifetime to know someone, perhaps especially yourself.
Knowing involves time, space, patience, wisdom, honesty and courage.
It also requires good people who we trust to walk beside us as we wonder.
I promise to be and provide all of the above.
Walking this way myself brought me to a second half of life quite different from the first. A life right for me today rather than the me I used to be.
More aligned. More radiant. More fulfilled. More me.
Not only am I a wife and mother, I am intentionally choosing all aspects of my life day to day. I am living and contemplating this beautiful life rather than existing.
I trained in this work so that I can invite you to walk this way too.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The common word is ‘Coaching’ but it’s a term that I find largely unhelpful.
Think more along the lines of thought partner or trusted companion or objective friend.
I am trained to help you to talk, reflect, understand and resolve your biggest concerns in life - personal, professional or spiritual.
-
It’s for you, dear heart!
I work with women and men from all walks of life.
Everyone Belongs Here!
I only ask that, like me, you commit to being honest, courageous and intentional so that good things can happen for you.
-
Like all the wisest things in life, it’s really rather simple:
We have a free, 30 minute chat.
We decide to work in partnership.
We meet for planned conversations or ‘sessions’.
You talk. I listen. I ask important questions.
You come to a better understanding of your life.
You start making your best decisions.
You start living, not existing.
You no longer need me.
-
That’s always your choice out of the following options:
We meet in a safe and quiet room where you can speak all your thoughts and feel all your feelings unhindered.
We meet online via Zoom.
We meet over a coffee or hot chocolate (perhaps cake).
We walk and talk in nature - probably my favourite option.
-
That’s always a conversation because it depends.
We all have different financial considerations and circumstances and I believe in equitable pricing. I want to remain accessible to everyone who needs my work.
Payment covers my investment in time and training. My interest, care and compassion are given freely.
This doesn’t vary person to person but is based on a set three-tiered system best explained through conversation.
I also offer 10% of my hours pro bono to certain education and charitable sectors with whom I work.
-
Again, you decide.
Some clients pay a retainer to meet once a month indefinitely.
Some pay for six sessions upfront in a one-off payment.
Some prefer to pay at the time of booking each session.
Sessions vary from 60 -120 minutes.
There is flexibility to best suit your needs. We will discuss this together.
-
Clients tell me that they immediately feel safe and at ease.
Everyone belongs.
I am warm, smiley, calm and sincere.
What you see is what you get.
Having previously been a teacher, senior leader and safeguarding lead for over 20 years, there is little that surprises me. I care deeply about people and concerns from all walks of life.
I am a very good listener and I ask very good questions as a result.
I’m not a silent partner; the balance is probably that you talk 80% and I talk around 20% of the time.
-
Perhaps you can tell me!
I am settled into my me-ness.
I am completely comfortable with silence, tears, questions, emotion, confusion. Whatever you bring is welcome. I brought it all before you did.
I’ve been called an ‘old soul’. I think there is much wisdom in nature, literature, spirituality and the ancient ways of living and being. I always keep them close.
I value contemplation, imagination, storytelling, paradox and metaphor.
I know that my clients trust me deeply and immediately - they comment on this because it is a rare experience. They often stay in touch out of choice long after sessions have ended.
-

How Clients Feel
Life Coaching - Thought Partnership
“I always leave our conversations with an idea of what I need to do to make my life better. Rachel encourages me to ‘turn over stones’ to see what lies beneath - to dig a bit deeper. Our chats are never superficial.
Rachel cares and listens - really listens. I know this because she can always remember and pick up on things I have previously said to keep me on track. She has a very special way of allowing people the space and safety needed to open up. Sometimes it feels easier to leave stones undisturbed but through this partnership I have learnt that there is a much wiser way forward.”
(Ongoing Client)
“Rachel helps me to see things from an entirely different perspective. More compassionate, more spacious, more full of possibility. I begin to understand what is behind my decisions, what is keeping me stuck. Fear of the unknown!
I always feel safe to share all - positives, negatives and what ifs. Nothing is judged. Everything is welcome.
Rachel helps me to sense where and how to begin; I think of things I might need to explore or collect on the way. At times it’s going to feel uncomfortable along the way and sometimes tear fall but that’s all ok. In fact, it’s better than OK because it’s needed. I need it.”
